Ruby on Rails Developer
We are part of Rocketboom R&D team, and previously built Know Your Meme, one of TIME Magazine's Top 50 Websites of 2009. Our team is building the best possible website for finding, watching, and tracking video from all over the web, and we're looking for talented & enthusiastic Ruby on Rails developers to join our team in New York City!
Our ideal candidate is self-motivated and has demonstrable experience with web application development. You'll be actively involved in the planning, design and implementation of our Rails applications, both frontend development and our backend data collection engines.
If you're a talented programmer, an ‘out of the box' thinker, and someone who thrives in a small, fast-paced environment, talk to us!
- Requirements:
- Expert knowledge of developing & debugging with Ruby on Rails
- Excellent knowledge of XHTML, CSS, and (unobtrusive) javascript
- Experience working with web APIs
- Experience with test-driven development
- Residence in or near New York City, or a willingness to relocate (no telecommuters)
- U.S. citizenship, or the permanent, legal right to work in the U.S.
- Pluses:
- An active user of Hulu, Vimeo, YouTube, Netflix or similar video sites
- Open source contributor (send us your GitHub username!)
